Support Educator for Leisure Activities

Who are we?

Welcome to the leisure activities, an exciting and dynamic operation within Youth at the Social Office. The leisure activities consist of several different service providers according to LSS. The statutory part of the leisure activities consists of 9:6 LSS in the form of camps and weekend trips, in addition to summer trips and the Activity House, which is an open activity for children and young people.

The coordinating and administrative group where this position is located currently consists of three employees.

With us, children and young people are the focus as we work to promote social community, meaningful leisure, and independence based on their needs and individual circumstances.

We also have a strong focus on the family and relative perspective, where we strive for the interventions to be relieving both in a preventive and acute phase.

Your tasks

As a support educator with us, you will work within the administration and coordination for all service providers within the leisure activities. This means overall responsibility for planning, logistics, and dispatch for our service operations.

It also involves handling new cases in the form of startup meetings with users and relatives, as well as other user- and relative-related issues that arise continuously.

In your role, you will work strategically with planning and guide leaders in the service operations regarding work and approaches related to our users and relatives.

You will occasionally visit the service operations where we will follow up and evaluate the operations in relation to goals and working methods.

The work involves contacts with many actors both internally and externally, such as authorities, companies, and partners. This is important to maintain the holistic work around each individual and the overall work in the operation.

You will work with continuous quality development in our operations, where we take on new challenges and adapt our operations to changing needs and guidelines. The operation is in a changing and expanding phase where the role and tasks may change over time based on the needs of the operation.

You will be part of a small team of two colleagues with whom you work closely in a shared office located at Thapperska.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who is an educated support educator. You have experience and competence in working in operations for people with disabilities.

You are accustomed to administrative work and have a high level of structure and a holistic perspective while having a well-rooted approach related to user and relative-related issues within the LSS target group.

You have experience and knowledge of working with individuals with challenging behaviors such as aggression, substance abuse, criminality, and self-harm.

We also see that you need to have experience in clarifying pedagogy, low-arousal responses, and neuropsychiatry.

You have previous experience working with children and youth within LSS as well as working with special diagnoses within NPF and knowledge of trauma. It is desirable that you can use sign language or signs as support and/or are familiar with other forms of AAC.

You who apply have good computer skills and can express yourself well in Swedish, both spoken and written.

A driving license (B) is a requirement for the position.
